Case Study 1

Industry: Mobile software company

Business situation & objectives:
Creation of the automatic and manual tests and running the original test cycles of the Internet browser full functionality for mobile devices are needed.

Challenge:
Development of custom BTE for this task, using the testing environment to analyze internet browser for mobile devices functionality.

Solution:
Automated testing was performed in the BTE (Browser Testing Environment). It consists of the following components: - a BTE client; this component is written by means of programming languages ? and ?++. The component is built in a mobile device simulator at a compilation stage and demands ScriptEase ECMAScript libraries installation on the computer. - BTE servers – a web-server, a server for test cases execution, a SSL server, a SMS server and MAG (Mobile Access Gateway); - Test Fairy – a script which manages the BTE processes on several computers; currently testing is distributed among 20-30 computers; - a Web-interface for statistics and test results displaying created by means of programming language PHP and databases MySQL.

Benefits:
Newly developed browser testing environment was implemented in order to analyze the customer’s product functionality with later elimination of discovered SP disadvantages.
